Saturday 20th July from 2pm to 8pm will be Summer Fun in the Park 2024.

Loads of great attractions including a climbing wall, bouncy castles and other inflatables, and zorbing. Live music acts and Punch and Judy return to keep all the family entertained. To keep up to date please visit our Facebook page. 

 

Big Picnic

It was great to see so many people at our big picnic on Sunday May 5th. Charles Philo and Daniel May entertained us with some fabulous live music, and Syd's cafe put on a great barbecue.

Summer Fun 2023

The event the weather couldn't spoil. We had to postpone our summer fun event in 2023 because of a very high winds warning. Whilst regrettable, we managed to rearrange the whole thing for 2nd September, and the event had a massive turnout - possibly our biggest ever! Thanks to all who took part, including our fabulous musicians, stall holders and food providers, not forgetting our wonderful volunteers, without whom, we could not put on this event each year.

Please save 7th May from 2-5pm for our Big Coronation Picnic - more details coming soon! Also Saturday July 15th which will see the return of our Summer Fun in the Park family fun day with live music, activities and so much more.

5 Year Plan

Thank you to those of you who completed our questionnaire asking about what you would like to see in the park in the next 5 years. The results have been collated and can be found here. These results will help us formulate a document that we can share with the council helping shape the future of our lovely green space.

Park Litter Pick

Thanks to all of you who turned out to help on 25th February. We collected so much rubbish! The park is very grateful. 
 

Tennis Court Consultation

Harrow Council have been offered an opportunity to receive a grant from the Lawn Tennis Association to renovate all their tennis courts. They plan to bring in a booking system and to start charging everyone to use the tennis courts. If you would like to take part in the consultation, the link is here. We (the committee) are not convinced that this is the best or the only way forward for the tennis courts of West Harrow, as we feel it will deter people from using them, and they are currently very well used. We also think the consultation questionnaire is quite biassed towards accepting the proposal rather than being impartial.

We need your ideas and opinions about our park. Please look out for our new survey which will inform our 5 year plan, and help us whenever we ask for things for the council by giving us a mandate.

September Clear Up and BBQ Event

Come along to our Community Clear Up and BBQ, on Saturday September 10th from 3pm (BBQ from 5pm). Please bring along gardening gloves or similar, and any tools that might be useful for tidying up the park. Litter pickers and bin bags will be provided. Meet up opposite Syd's near the gym equipment at 3pm.

Summer Fun in the Park will be back next year!

We are planning our annual Fun Day for July 2023. Live music, entertainment, sports, demonstrations, activities like Zorbing and Laser Tag, Food and Drink and much much more. Exact date will be posted soon!

West Harrow Rec Reminiscences
